tigers jaw slept over on friday night so we could get up early on saturday, and we did. we drove up to matt pike’s house first, where played an acoustic set, ate pizza, and decided (this is a personal decision, i should note) that new found glory should change their name to newfoundglory (pronounced “noofihndgloree”). here’s a picture of our new band member:

then we ate more pizza and drank coffee before heading down to our show in boston, which was really, really awesome. borderlands, make do and mend, transit, shook ones, and a loss for words were all really cool, and it really was great to play with them. i played pokemon while doing merch, and have great news to report: my luxio evolved to luxray, and my sheildon evolved to bastiodon.

after the show we went to jeff rfc’s house, watched the new rammstein video (for some reason i initially typed transit instead of rammstein), watched matty successfully throw a quarter first into pat’s shirt pocket, then into a glass on the table. both were very impressive feats. great job, matty.

we woke up on sunday pretty early, ate a lot of food at a diner, and got home early in the afternoon. a successful trip all around.

we’re going to be playing two shows in the next two weeks, both in the scranton/wb area.

adam and ben will be calling in to fairfield university’s radio station, WVOF (88.5), tonight at 11 pm to talk to our good friend kevin tellie. we might also be playing a song. if you’re in the connecticut area and pick up that station, let us know if you’re listening!

UPDATE: you can also stream it live here.

the past two weekends have been really awesome for us. here’s why.

philadelphia: man overboard, everyone everywhere, balance & composure, haunter, and captain we’re sinking were great, dj’s/matt’s/joe’s/danielle’s/(zack’s)/(leo’s) house is a great place to play, good friend representation, no cops, no broken equipment, brianna didn’t die, ryan judge took pictures (which we should have soon), the tank top i wore was extremely appropriate because of how hot it was inside, and i got to sleep on a comfortable leather couch.

new york: weed hounds, exit she calls, and the motorcycle industry were great, the yippie cafe is awesome, the show didn’t have to get moved, weed mural, good friend representation, no cops, no broken equipment, brianna didn’t die, no repeat of last brooklyn show, good weather, the tank top i wore was extremely appropriate because of how hot it was inside, henry park came to america, good pizza, and no parking tickets.

now: we’re going to be going back to the studio to record a new song and touch up some older ones for our split with balance and composure, coming out in early 2010. we’re also going to be recording sometime this winter for our new full length, which will be out by spring 2010 from run for cover records. expect some dates to be announced for early january in a few days or so (more on that once we get some things comfirmed).

again, thanks to everyone who came out over the past two weekends to see us. very cool times.

YSC ben is awesome. make sure you listen to his songs. “the fan with the blade…” is one of my favorite songs ever. link.
